Karwaan Heritage, in collaboration with Atta Galatta, invites you to an evocative evening celebrating the launch of Masala Mandi: A Guide to the World of Indian Spice Blends by chef, author, and storyteller Sadaf Hussain.

This special book launch goes beyond the conventional format to bring together food, history, memory, and culture through an in-depth conversation between Chef Sadaf Hussain and Chef Deepa Chauhan. Together, they will explore the layered histories and living traditions of Indian spice blends — from ancient trade routes and cultural exchanges to everyday culinary practices that continue to evolve in homes and professional kitchens alike.

Spices have always been at the heart of India’s engagement with the world, shaping not only cuisines but also economies, rituals, and identities. Through this discussion, the speakers will trace how spice blends travel across regions and generations, adapting to local palates while retaining their cultural essence.
